Flashing Fire Engines!

As you know Wednesday 5th November was Firework night; we were very lucky to have been visited by the Forest Hill fire fighters and their fire engine.

The fire fighters demonstrated some of the equipment they use. They showed us their safety suits, their helmet and breathing apparatus. We learnt that the fire fighters must not have any part of their body on show when they go into a building that is on fire, that's why they wear a special suit and gloves.

We were allowed to sit in the fire engine too, we needed a bit of help to get in and out though!

We even got to have a go at spraying the hose!

We really enjoyed the visit and hope the fire fighters visit us again.
