Growing up

We have begun our second term here at our Lady's Nursery and the year has got off to a flying start! The children have come back full of beans and really excited to begin the term. We have begun our new topic- Healthy eating and my body; this week we have focussed on the theme of growing.

The children have enjoyed looking at photos of the different stages of growth from baby to elderly and sorting the pictures into the correct order.

We have changed some of our displays to reflect the new topic.
The children enjoyed helping us to make our boy for the 'My body' display.
We have also started to transform our role play area into a hospital, complete with x-ray machine!

Here we are bandaging dolls and teddies.

The children have been learning some computer programming skills by playing with programmable constructa-bots.

Our cooking activity this week was making toast with jam or honey.

Other activities this week included-

Playing with construction toys and pasta.
 Reading in the reading room.
Matching photos of baby animals to the mummy/daddy animals.
Playing animal bingo.

Next week the children will be learning about body parts, the skeleton and self-care.
