Look how busy we have been ...

This half term we have had lots of fun in Nursery. Check out the things we have been up to!!!

For Diwali we enjoyed making Diwali sweets and rangoli patterns.

We have been learning how to stay safe when crossing the road.

We have been on our first class trip to Dulwich park.

After reading 'The Gingerbread Man' we enjoyed baking our very own gingerbread people. When decorating our people, we spoke about the different sizes of our biscuits.

For 'Friendship Week' we all worked together to make a friendship quilt. We remembered to take turns, share and work as a team.

To help Santa prepare for Christmas, we helped him wrap presents and write name tags in the Santa's grotto!

To end the term we invited our parents to come and see our Christmas performance and we had a Christmas party!

Happy Half Term

After listening to the story  'Monkey Puzzle' by Julia Donaldson, we thought about our own families and what makes them special. We had  fun creating on very own envelope homes, and we also used lolly sticks to represent our family members.

To continue celebrating 'Black History Month' we had a great time watching the West African drumming performance. We had so much fun moving to the music and playing instruments. Look at what super dancers we are!!!

We have been helping each other to put our coats on all by ourselves, without any help from the adults.

Here are some of the others things we got up to this week. As you can see we had a lot of fun!

'Tapestry' is an online journal that is a personal way for you to  track and celebrate your child's achievements. As 'Tapestry' will soon be made live to parents, we will now be updating 'Our Lady's Nursery' blog  half termly. If  you want to keep up to date with what your child has been up to in Nursery, just log into your child's personal 'Tapestry' account.

Hello Handa

This week we have read the story 'Handa's Surprise' and Handa came to visit us all the way from Kenya!

After reading the story we used some tropical fruits to make a delicious fruit salad. We have also been learning about some new and exciting fruits from the story.

We also used colourful beads to make our very own Kenyan Jewellery... take a look!

What a Busy Week!

This week in Nursery,  we have been exploring colour mixing. This was great fun and we loved using shaving foam and  paint to make new colours.

On Monday we came into our 'book nook' to find  that Brown Bear had made a big mess. As a team  we had to teach Brown Bear how to tidy up.

We have had a lot of fun making our very own playdough. As you can see we got very messy!

Check out the the other things we have been up to ....

Another Week in Nursery!

This week we have been thinking about where we live and our own homes. We have had so much fun building different types of homes using the community blocks.Check out some of our creations!!

We have also been reading ‘Brown Bear, Brown Bear’ by Eric Carl.  Nursey have been identifying all of the different colours around us and used a range of materials to make colour collages. Each day we have a colour challenge and our task is to follow the clues to guess what is inside the colour basket.

Look at us read in our 'book nook'.This is a cosy den in our reading room, where we can go to explore and enjoy a book.
